I’m currently living in Minneapolis, MN and working toward a PhD in Genetics at the University of Minnesota. I spent four years of my time at the University of Iowa studying Genetics &
Biotechnology. I took part in undergraduate research within the extraordinary
Phillips Lab
, where I’ve gained valuable bench experience and exposure to the scientific method. One day, my goal is to be one of those goofy
biology professors rambling on about the ability of the natural sciences to change our lives for the better.
My research interests today focus on genome engineering technology.
I currently work as a graduate student for the
Smanski
and
Voytas
labs.
I'm working to improve upon and apply current genome engineering technologies, specifically within the realm of agricultural biotechnology.
In addition to the sciences, my interests include early weekend viewing of European football (huge BVB supporter), excess caffeine consumption,
and shameless(ful) people watching. If you have input in terms of content or discussion toward the blog, let’s get in contact.
You can find me on Twitter or shoot me an email using the links at the bottom of the page. Massive props go to my web developer
Armond Luthens for building
and maintaining the site. If you ever require the services of an uber-talented, yet wildly attractive, software engineer/coding
extraordinaire then Armond is your guy.
Thanks to all for the support.
